Our Family Adventure at Aquatopia in Camelback Resort

a sponsored macaroni kid review

My family and I love to try new things, but it is not always easy to leave our comfort zone especially with 3 young kids.   So when we were invited to a 2 day getaway at Camelback Resort, I was really excited... but also thinking “EEEK do I really want to drag my kids to another state just to ski?”  the answer is “yes, and it’s not just to ski!”

Thanks to the help from SkiPA we had an amazing time going from learning to ski, hanging out in our amazing bunk bed suite, to 84 degrees and splashing in the waterpark.

SkiPA sent us to Camelback Resort, in Tannersville Pennsylvania. My kids (and I think most kids) get excited at the idea of sleeping at a hotel.  But when we walked into Camelback resort, our jaws dropped.  This place was amazing!  I wish we had a whole extra day just to explore the hotel! Of course it was extra special, decked out in a Christmas spectacular…. Santa’s sleigh, giant Christmas trees, a train, balloon gingerbread house,  story time with Mrs. Claus, movie night, crafts…. Need I say more?  All this, as soon as you walk in!

Once you head in a little more, you’ll see there is so much more to offer.  When we book a hotel room, we get excited if there is an indoor pool.  Camelback Resort has a waterpark (actually 2, but brrr we only used the indoor one).  This is included in your stay!  You can check it out the day you check in, and stay until closing the day you check out.

The waterpark was amazing.  First off, the ceiling was windows!  Last time I was at an indoor waterpark, I felt like I was in a giant tin garage.  I actually saw and felt the sun almost our entire time there (once it set, I was able to convince myself to head home… but we could have stayed another 4 hours till closing!).

Aquatopia had something for everyone!  Babies, toddlers, kids young and old, and adults- smiles all around! There were slides that I could barely look at without getting scared, single & double tube slides, body slides, mat slides, family slides, toddler slides, slides perfect for your “big” kids, not quite ready for the largest slides.  They even have a swim up bar for us “kids” over 21!

Can you conquer the croc-o-nile crossing?  Or do you prefer to float by as your siblings play some water basketball?

The little guys loved penguin play bay.  Here they found spray stations, wings, slides and a whole lot of shallow water splashable fun!

Another favorite was the lost river. Grab a single or double tube and  float by waterfalls, weaving through canals and under sprays of water!

One thing that I noticed that really made my life easier, was transitioning from one area to the next.  Everything has it’s own space, but so easy to navigate.  No long walks tiring everyone out before getting to the next spot to explore.  The left side of Aquatopia was also on an incline, so if you had a sleeping baby in a stroller… you can still easily get from the wave pool to any other area needed!

Ready to dry off and have more adventure?  Camelback resort has a ropes course, arcade, rock climbing, lazertag, and a spa!

We had so much fun at Aquatopia at the Camelback resort, I cannot wait to go back!
