Hurray for Madeline!...as the celebrated children's book MADELINE'S CHRISTMAS by Ludwig Bemelmans comes to life on stage as a delightful holiday musical with book and lyrics by Jennifer Kirkeby and Music by Shirley Mier.
"In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines, lived 12 little girls in two straight lines..." So begins this delightful story of 'Madeline's Christmas' and a treasured holiday children's story recounting the praises of a fearless young girl who, though seeming demure, rises to the challenge of caring for her fellow boarding school housemates. Not only does Madeline prove capable, but, with the help of a magical rug merchant who shows up in the cold of night at their doorstep, Madeline's good deeds are transformed into a miraculous Christmas holiday adventure for her entire boarding school!
For all generations, MADELINE'S CHRISTMAS will be a delight; complete with a core of Woodstock Playhouse Theatre for Children Professional Cast Members and a dozen delightful rising youth talent from our own community and the New York Conservatory for the Arts.
Run time: one hour; no intermission; photo-ops and celebration after the show.
