Leeds Boy a Finalist for ESWG Athlete of the Year!

Ethan Searing-Burke (10 years old) from Leeds, NY was selected as a finalist for Empire State Winter Games Athlete of the Year for 2021.  Ethan was selected as a finalist to represent Squirt Hockey.
Ethan who wears #13 has played hockey for the Saugerties Mustangs since he was four years old.  Last year, Ethan travelled with the Saugerties Mustangs to Lake Placid where they earned a bronze medal.  This year, prior to the games being cancelled - Ethan and his team had their sights set on earning the gold medal for Squirt Hockey.
Ethan is described as being a youth who is a hardworking and dedicated leader and sportsman both on and off the ice.  Ethan loves the 'energy of the ESWG Games' and the excitement he gets when working with his hockey team.  
Additionally, Ethan is a 5th grader at Cairo-Durham Elementary school, where he is an officer for both Safety Patrol and Student Council. Ethan plays lacrosse and soccer in the off season.
