Macaroni Kid Craft: Shrunken Christmas Lists

By Jenna Slade - Publisher of Macaroni Kid Saugerties et. al. December 10, 2022

After my kids lost their Christmas wish lists for the third time, we decided we needed a new technique.
My oldest suggested we make Shrinky Dinks® lists.  Then our Elf can deliver them and bring them back to use as ornaments!

Their lists will be turned mini and added BONUS, their options will have to be "shrunken" as well, to fit on the quarter piece of paper.

I loved this idea and we headed straight to Michaels to pick up some paper.
We cut the paper in quarters and each kid took a sheet.
My oldest did hers on her own, she drew some boxes out and drew pictures of her wish list in each space.
My middle wanted to draw one picture and practice her spelling, so I drew some lines on a piece of paper, then taped her Shrinky Dinks® sheet on top.  This made it easier for her to write straight and space out her wish list!
My youngest can't write yet, so he told me what he wanted and I drew it out for him, and he colored it how he wanted, and traced his name
We put a hold punch on the top of each sheet.  Then baked them for 2-3 minutes in the toaster oven. One curled over a bit too much, so I had to take it out and uncurl it before it hardened, then placed it back in the oven for reheating.
When we took them out, we placed them flat to completely harden and added an ornament hook!
We will hang them on a tree and wait for our Elf to come and deliver to Santa!
This was a fun, quick and easy activity! I even made a few ornaments for myself!
